~ Rocking Alone ~
Sitting alone in an old rocking chair
I saw an old mother with silvery hair
She seemed so neglected by those who should care
Rocking alone in an old rocking chair
Her hands were all callused and wrinkled and old
A life of hard work was the story they told
And I thought of angels as I saw her there
Rocking alone in an old rocking chair
Bless her old heart, do you think she'd complain
Though life has been bitter she'd live it again
And carry that cross that is more than her share
Rocking alone in an old rocking chair
It wouldn't take much just to gladden her heart
Just some small remembrance on somebody's part
A letter would brighten her empty life there
Rocking alone in an old rocking chair
I know some youngsters in an orphans' home
Who'd think they owned heaven if she was their own
They'd never be willing to let her sit there
Rocking alone in an old rocking chair
I look at her and I think "What a shame"
The ones who forgot her she loves just the same
And I think of angels as I see her there
Rocking alone in an old rocking chair
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. MATT 25:40

It would be wonderful if each person who reads this page would reach out and touch the heart of some lonely shut-in, or an elderly person who has no family. If you want to experience some great "warm fuzzies," just watch the dull, teary eyes of the lonely brighten instead with tears of joy and gratitude when you plant a wee kiss on their sweet little cheekie!
Perhaps you and your family could drop by a nursing home and ask the staff who needs visitors, or even just call a nursing home to inquire which patients are alone or neglected and send a Christmas card from "someone who cares." A card or two costs very little, and a hug costs nothing, but they would be absolutely priceless to a sad and lonely "someone who waits."
Jesus taught us that "the greatest of these is love," so let us celebrate the true spirit of the season by giving Him, them, AND ourselves an awesome gift of love. Now, let's all get on with it, and spread some love and happiness! What a beautiful, most rewarding way to say......

PLEASE DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE ROCKING CHAIR IS EMPTY!
The beautiful lady pictured above is our very own mother....1919-2003
Madre, your chair may be empty, but our hearts and our memories are not. We love you and miss you very much. Please save us a mansion right next to Jesus!
P.S. Thanks for adopting me as your "third daughter."
